G-Medical Spa: Where Healing Feels Like Home in Long Beach

October 30, 20256 min read

Some stories in Long Beach start with hustle, others with heart — and G-Medical Spa is both. Born from burnout and built on love, this queer-owned massage spa has grown into one of the city’s most trusted healing spaces. It’s not just about massages; it’s about what happens when care becomes a calling.

I met the owner, a queer woman who founded G-Medical back in 2010, after walking away from a completely different industry. She’d spent years sitting at a desk for twelve hours a day, watching her health decline until one day she realized: enough. She wanted to make a difference — not just for herself, but for people who were hurting, overworked, or simply in need of being seen.

That decision led her to healthcare, to bodywork, and eventually, to Long Beach, the city she and her wife fell in love with for its culture, diversity, and community. Over the years, G-Spa has become a sanctuary — a place that welcomes everyone exactly as they are. When she talks about creating a safe, inclusive space, she doesn’t use buzzwords. She lives it.

Owner Giovanna Estocin

“I believe in treating everybody with kindness and respect — without judgment,” she told me. “It’s about building the right culture. My staff wants to be in a diverse, inclusive environment, and our clients feel that energy the moment they walk in.”

That reputation has made G-Spa a go-to destination not only for the queer community, but for anyone who wants to feel cared for — body, mind, and spirit. And clearly, Long Beach feels the love: G-Medical Spa has been voted “Absolute Best of Long Beach” and “People’s Choice” two years in a row, a testament to how deeply they’ve earned the city’s trust.

Their new location, which officially opened this summer, reflects that same heart. It’s warm, bright, and grounded in intentional details — from the scents and music to the way each therapist personalizes their approach. Whether you come in for deep tissue, cupping, prenatal, or their signature CBD-infused “Touch of Hemp” balm, every service starts with understanding your body and your story.

That balm, by the way, was her wife’s idea — and it’s now one of the most talked-about parts of their treatments. Made with 200mg of CBD and all-natural ingredients, it’s meant to extend the healing beyond the spa. “A lot of CBD products are packed with fillers,” she said. “Ours is simple, clean, and effective — and our clients love it.”

But what really sets G-Medical apart is how deeply they see the connection between body and emotion.
“If you’re going through something emotionally, it can show up as pain in your body,” she explained. “When you receive bodywork in a safe space, it’s not just physical. You get to release emotionally too. That’s when healing really begins.”

It’s that mix of compassion and professionalism that’s carried G-Medical through some of the hardest times — including the pandemic, when so many small businesses in Long Beach were struggling to stay open. Instead of giving up, she spent her days calling clients to check in, keeping that sense of community alive even when touch wasn’t possible.

Fast forward to now: nearly 16 years later and over 24,000 clients served, G-Medical Spa continues to thrive — one massage, one story, one connection at a time. Each therapist tailors their work to the individual, ensuring no two services are ever alike. “It’s one of the few times a person gets to be fully present,” she said. “No phones, no tech — just two people in a room being 100% there.”

That’s the kind of energy that feels very Long Beach. The mix of artistry, care, and community that makes this city special. As G-Medical looks toward the future — with plans to expand into couples’ massages again and eventually evolve into a full wellness clinic — one thing remains clear: this is more than a spa. It’s a reflection of everything this city stands for — diversity, healing, and heart.

And after meeting her, you can’t help but root for her.
Because businesses like G-Medical remind us that healing isn’t just about the body — it’s about belonging.
