Tucked just off Broadway, a new creative space is coming to life—and it’s unlike anything Long Beach has seen before. Neon Dreams is an immersive art experience that invites visitors to step into a surreal, walk-through environment filled with color, texture, and depth. Created by Playalarga, a community-first events company based in Long Beach, in collaboration with immersive artist Debi Cable, the experience offers more than just a gallery—it’s a space to gather, feel, and explore.

Guests wear 3D glasses as they move through the environment, where hand-painted murals and sculptural elements glow under blacklight and appear to stretch off the walls. From floor to ceiling, everything is designed to shift your sense of space and pull you into something dreamlike—but grounded in craftsmanship and artistic intention.

“This isn’t about staring at art—it’s about stepping into it,” says Debi Cable, whose 3D blacklight installations have been featured at festivals, museums, and immersive events across the country. “With Neon Dreams, we’ve built something people can feel with their whole body.”

Unlike pop-up art exhibits, Neon Dreams is more than a moment—it’s a space with a future. The experience will evolve over time, welcoming a wide range of creative and community-centered events, including:

• Workshops, artist talks, and collaborative programming
  

Playalarga, known for producing events that bring people together through culture, creativity, and shared experience, sees Neon Dreams as a temporary home for immersive storytelling and connection in Long Beach.

“Playalarga has always been about creating space—space to feel joy, to reflect, to build community,” says Sal Flores-Trimble, founder and creative lead at Playalarga. “With Neon Dreams, we’re creating something that speaks to the senses. It’s art you can feel, and a space where people from can enjoy and be transported to a glowing paradise.”
